From time to time over the years, I have engaged in a bit of Tuckerization.

Sometimes it is friendly.
I wrote Natalie up as a bar bouncer named Arabella and our friend Kate up as a cafe singer called “Squeaky.” (Kate happens to be a very fine soprano)
Tabitha Brown became InkSlinger, a Badree Nym, who brings pictures to life.
Mark Prins became Bodisaniwi, the character on the cover of the upcoming edition of my lexicon, with his magic book under one arm and his wooden sword, Sillior, in his hand.
Andrea Wideman inspired the character of Lilac, another Badree Nym, whose special talents are making people’s purses explode and growing purple flowers.

Sometimes it is vicious.
Pacionesuidae is a sa’necari who gets gutted by Anksha in Blood Dawn
filbinious is a sa’necari who gets skinned alive in Blood Lies
Dagstain is my latest victim. I’m in the middle of writing a dismemberment torture scene and guess who is the guest of honor. Clegg Wescot just finished with his toes and has started on his fingers. Rocky Mountain Oysters is soon to follow.

It is such fun to be a writer.
