About Me

About the memoir posts:

I always viewed sympathy as a band aid. I feel that pity obscures matters. I would rather be known for my victories, than for my defeats. I would rather be known for writing well, than for having had a tough life.

If there is any ultimate point to my memoir posts, it’s that no matter how hard life gets, if you hang tough, you get through it. I think that Norman Spinrad said it best in Bug Jack Barron “The only way out is through.”

“Janrae Frank was first published in 1979 in the World Fantasy Award-Winning anthology Amazons! edited by Jessica Amanda Salmonson (DAW).  She moved over to journalism in the early 80s, becoming an MPAA accredited journalist in 1984.  Her journalism creds include Cinefantastique, Movieline, Monsterland, Thrust: SF in Review, the Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times, and Black Belt.  Between 2003 and 2008, she had twenty novels published by Renaissance Ebooks, which are currently being re-issued in expanded editions under the Daverana imprint.”
